This extraordinary construction project is based on a humanistic architectural concept by JOSEP Architekten, placing dignity, sustainability, and intergenerational living at its core.

The timber building captures a significant amount of CO₂, deliberately avoids sealed surfaces for cars, and instead creates space for people and nature. A central element of the project is the communal garden area, for which Sunsquare developed a custom shading solution: two SQS sun sail systems, each with 34 m² of surface area, designed as radial sails made from Orchestra U335 Gypse Pique fabric.

The sails were mounted symmetrically along the axis, with parallel alignment in the slope of the shaft – a clear commitment to architectural order and aesthetics. A discreet façade mounting was intentionally chosen to preserve the integrity of the building’s design. Instead of ground screw foundations, a wall-mounted solution was implemented, harmoniously integrating into the overall concept.

A particularly noteworthy feature is the independent controllability of the two sails – they can be used individually, offering flexible shading for different times of day and varying needs.

This project demonstrates how architecture and technical solutions can work hand in hand – for a livable future built on humanity, experience, and simple principles.
