How much does a custom-made premium shade sail cost?
The cost of a shade sail depends on its size, fabric, mounting requirements, and the level of automation and features you choose. Here you will find a realistic overview of price ranges, equipment options, and the key factors that influence the final investment, giving you full transparency and no surprises.

Sample prices for guidance
As every SunSquare shade sail is individually designed and manufactured to order, there is no fixed standard price. However, as a general guideline, fully automated premium systems in Austria typically range between €13,000 and €30,000, including Austrian VAT, depending on the size, features, and installation requirements.
These figures serve as indicative values for the Austrian market. Thanks to the proximity of our production facility, transportation distances are usually short, resulting in lower logistics costs in most cases.
Following a personal consultation, you will receive a transparent quotation tailored precisely to the requirements of your project.

Factors that influence the price of your shade sail
Whether your shade sail costs closer to €13,000 or towards €30,000 depends on several factors. As a general rule, the larger the area to be shaded, the more customized the design, and the higher the requirements for comfort and features, the greater the investment. Bespoke solutions, motorized operation, or complex installation requirements can also influence the price. Together, we will find the solution that perfectly matches your needs and your budget.

Answers to the most important questions
Would you like to know how the price is calculated or how the planning process works? Here you’ll find answers to the questions most frequently asked by our customers.
SunSquare systems are bespoke premium solutions, typically starting at €14,000 (incl. VAT) per installation. The exact price depends on the model, size and geometry, planning and structural requirements, mounting conditions, sail material, and equipment.
Installation is possible on standard surfaces such as brick, concrete, or sufficiently dimensioned wood (with or without thermal insulation). In special construction situations, custom brackets or additional work may be required. If it becomes apparent during installation that extra effort is needed (e.g. mounting plates, special brackets, additional labor or travel time), this additional work will be charged separately.
You can open your SunSquare® system during winter, but several important precautions must be taken to avoid damage: The sail fabric must be dry. Weather conditions in the days/weeks prior to opening should have been dry. Temperatures should be above freezing. Do not open the SunSquare® system in icy conditions or snowfall. The sail is not designed to bear snow loads! There is a risk of collapse, which could cause injury and serious damage to your SunSquare system. If snow has fallen on the open sail, it must be removed immediately before retracting the fabric. If the sail is frozen, wait for milder weather before opening the system. If the sail is not dismantled or protected with a cover during winter, discoloration may occur (e.g. zebra effect along edges and ends).
SunSquare is a manufacturer and, in a small area in eastern Austria, also a direct seller. Together with our SunSquare distribution partners, we cover the EU, Switzerland, parts of the USA, and the UAE. To prepare a quote, we need the following information: Project address Dimensions of the area to be shaded Photos with measurements or a plan Type of property (Private, Hospitality & Gastronomy, or Commercial) Intended location for the sun sail (e.g. terrace, rooftop terrace, garden, pool, or balcony) With this information, our team can identify the most suitable SunSquare distribution partner in your area and organise both the contact and the preparation of a quote for you.
