Custom-made sun sails – for patios, gardens and commercial outdoor areas.
Since 1993, we have been designing architectural shade – with conviction, technical precision and a vision: to rethink outdoor space.
SunSquare models
Sun sail solutions for every type of architecture. Individually designed for private, commercial and public outdoor areas.
What is a SunSquare sun sail?
Sun sails are more than just textile shade providers – they design outdoor spaces, create atmosphere and provide reliable protection from sun, wind and rain. SunSquare® invented the motorised, wind-monitored sun sail – and has continued to perfect it to this day. Our systems are tailor-made solutions that combine design, technology and durability.

Perfectly conceived. Beautifully executed.
What appears simple is in fact a sophisticated system – built to last for decades, planned down to the smallest detail.

Form follows function. And space.
Whether triangular or rectangular: our sail geometries adapt to the spatial conditions – not the other way around. Sophisticated designs, clean lines and precise tensioning systems make each installation unique.

Questions and Answers
Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about our sun sails. And if you still have questions, we are happy to help!
You can open your SunSquare® system during winter, but several important precautions must be taken to avoid damage: The sail fabric must be dry. Weather conditions in the days/weeks prior to opening should have been dry. Temperatures should be above freezing. Do not open the SunSquare® system in icy conditions or snowfall. The sail is not designed to bear snow loads! There is a risk of collapse, which could cause injury and serious damage to your SunSquare system. If snow has fallen on the open sail, it must be removed immediately before retracting the fabric. If the sail is frozen, wait for milder weather before opening the system. If the sail is not dismantled or protected with a cover during winter, discoloration may occur (e.g. zebra effect along edges and ends).
SunSquare offers a winter protection cover. This is cut to the length of your individually planned SunSquare® system and can be purchased from your sales partner. If you are a SunSquare® headquarters customer, you can purchase the sun protection cover directly from SunSquare®. Delivery is usually made by post or handed over by our fitters as part of the completion of a SunSquare® system — provided that the case was also ordered when the whole SunSquare® system-order was placed.
If weather and wind conditions permit, close the system. The sail will roll up onto the fabric shaft. Then carefully wrap the loose rope around the fabric shaft to secure the sailcloth. Disconnect the system from the power supply to ensure it cannot be opened after a rope break. Please contact a SunSquare sales partner immediately.
