Rectangular Sail duo: AX-II
The both-sided SunSquare® sail with rectangular cut, model AX-II (duo), creates generous shaded areas of up to 76 m² — perfect for sophisticated outdoor concepts.
Both-sided. Doubly brilliant.
Installing the AX-II duo requires six mounting points, which can be flexibly implemented via wall or ground installation — depending on the structural conditions and design concept. This model is particularly well-suited for elongated, narrow areas such as terraces, walkways, or poolside zones.
The materials used guarantee an exceptional lifetime of the systems and thus offer long-term investment security. SunSquare® - the sail for generations!
SunSquare® is the inventor of fully automated, radio-controlled and wind-monitored, rollable sun sail systems with worldwide patent protection. Every SunSquare® system is planned and technically controlled at SunSquare® headquarters and production only starts after approval. Technical and planning experience that makes the difference
The wind sensor reliably protects every SunSquare system — even if you forget to close the sail, it sends a command to the motor when wind speeds are too high and automatically closes your shade sail.
Versatile – can be used anywhere where outdoor space is created.
Fabrics that can do more. Colours that last.
High-quality sailcloth with UV, rain and fire protection – available in numerous colours and textures.

Technology that thinks ahead. Systems that grow with you.
From the first sketch to the last screw: every SunSquare® system is the result of sophisticated technology – developed in Austria, tested to the highest standards and equipped with smart sensor technology. Wind monitoring, cable-guided tensioning and modular assembly make our systems as reliable as they are flexible.

Real projects, real locations. SunSquare® systems are used in so many different ways around the world.
Your project deserves the best shade!

There are several possible reasons why your sail isn’t retracting: Motor overheating protection has been triggered. Allow the motor time to cool down. Avoid operating your SunSquare system too frequently in succession, as this can lead to overheating. Remote control battery is empty. Please replace the batteries. No power supply to the SunSquare system. Check the fuse of your system. Has the residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) been triggered? Resolve the issue, and if electrical work is required, please contact an electrician. The drive of your system may be defective. ➡️ If none of these issues apply: close the sail manually (if an emergency hand crank is available) and contact a SunSquare® distribution partner.
The system must be quickly retracted using the emergency hand crank. For this reason, the hand crank should be stored visibly and close to the system so the sail can be manually closed without delay. For systems with an iO motor, the use of an emergency hand crank is not intended. Please contact a SunSquare® distribution partner as soon as possible.
You can open your SunSquare® system during winter, but several important precautions must be taken to avoid damage: The sail fabric must be dry. Weather conditions in the days/weeks prior to opening should have been dry. Temperatures should be above freezing. Do not open the SunSquare® system in icy conditions or snowfall. The sail is not designed to bear snow loads! There is a risk of collapse, which could cause injury and serious damage to your SunSquare system. If snow has fallen on the open sail, it must be removed immediately before retracting the fabric. If the sail is frozen, wait for milder weather before opening the system. If the sail is not dismantled or protected with a cover during winter, discoloration may occur (e.g. zebra effect along edges and ends).
Which model suits your project?
Whether it's a private roof terrace, hotel garden or public square, SunSquare® offers the right system for every requirement.
