Rethinking textile architecture — SunSquare system at Cone Club Sardinia

In the middle of the natural paradise of the Costa Smeralda, nestled in the exclusive complex of 7Pines Resort Sardinia, was created with the Cone Club a visionary overall concept of architecture, gastronomy, music and a Mediterranean lifestyle.

For this extraordinary project, SunSquare developed together with the long-standing sales partner Incompar Balear SL a completely new approach to textile architecture: “Out of the Box”.

The requirements were complex:

Mobile, removeable solution for winter
Integration into a sensitive natural area
Protection from sun and light rain
Aesthetic effect as part of the overall design

The result: 10 SQK-I systems connected via a wood/steel structure, which is not only functionally convincing, but also sets new standards in terms of design. The sails are floating and easily integrated into the environment, create shadow zones with artistic flair and are a central part of the club atmosphere.

After the first season of 2022, the complex was expanded to specifically close gaps in sunshine — with great success: The sails ensure full tables, enthusiastic guests and a strong presence on social media.
