Elegant sun protection for historic architecture in the south-west of England

In one of the most exclusive residential areas Volker Weiss installed a SunSquare shade sail system with a compensator in 2017, which combines modern sun protection for the terrace with the utmost respect for the existing architecture. The spacious shade sail in the colour sand blends harmoniously into the historic building fabric and creates a stylish outdoor space with high-quality UV protection.

With a sail area of 53 m² the double-triangle system spans the terrace and elegantly extends the living area outdoors. The high-quality Sattler acrylic fabric provides pleasant shade and a light-filled ambiance that highlights the building's natural charm.

Special attention was paid to the most discreet integration of the mounting points. Two mounting points were installed directly on the house. The end of the sail was attached via an architecturally understated wall ring that respects the clean lines of the facade and blends into the background. The mounting point above the wall cornice was secured using a wall bracket. Two slender ground supports complete the structure, giving the sun sail its characteristic lightness.

Especially for sophisticated residential properties, the strength of a custom-made SunSquare sun sail is clear: large spans, elegant designs, and perfectly coordinated integration into the existing architecture create a solution that is as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing.

The owner's enthusiasm spoke for itself: After his positive experiences in Dunstone, he later decided to equip his country estate with a SunSquare sun sail as well. A fine example of how high-quality shading solutions impress through their design, durability, and everyday practicality.
