Eight sails for Plau at the lake
Custom SunSquare sails at Seehotel Plau offer flexible, weatherproof shading for gastronomy – with automated control and wind sensors.
Flexible shading solution for gastronomy
The Seehotel in Plau at the lake was expanded with a well-designed SunSquare solution for two outdoor dining areas – consisting of eight sun sails arranged in two 4-sail row systems.
Each set of sails shades an area of approximately 100 m² and 110 m², providing guests with reliable protection from sun and rain.
A key highlight is the individual controllability: each of the four systems can be operated independently at the push of a button – tailored to current needs.
This creates a flexible shading concept that adapts perfectly to the time of day and weather conditions.
Service staff can fully focus on guests without having to move or manually open and close umbrellas.
The SunSquare systems were installed back in 2016 and have been in continuous, reliable operation ever since – a testament to the high quality and durability of the systems.
Thanks to integrated wind sensors, safety is ensured by automatic retraction in strong winds.
A successful example of textile architecture that makes outdoor dining areas functional, weatherproof, and guest-friendly.
