Stylish sun sails for perfect shade and maximum comfort
Two SunSquare systems with innovative height adjustment and minimalistic façade connection for optimal sun protection and design.
Close Coordination and Optimal Planning Performance
As part of this project, two SunSquare compensator systems were planned and implemented in close coordination with the clients. Particular attention was paid to a minimalist façade connection, as the buildings feature a high-end carbon façade. To preserve architectural clarity and maintain the functionality of walkways, the support posts were positioned outside pedestrian zones.
The sun sails not only provide shading for the outdoor areas but also protect the large glass façades from direct sunlight. This results in a noticeable reduction in indoor heat buildup – a key contribution to summer thermal protection and the building’s energy efficiency.
System 1: Height-adjustable fabric shaft
The first system features a height-adjustable fabric roller. This solution allows flexible height adjustment of the sail in the area of the staircase, ensuring both visual harmony and sufficient headroom. The roller, which holds the rolled-up fabric, is designed to be height-adjustable.
System 2: Manual height adjuster at sail end
The second system includes a manual height adjuster at the sail’s end. This feature enables targeted shading from the afternoon sun and allows for customized sail positioning to optimize sun protection.
