One house, two terraces, perfect sun protection

Multi-generational home: Custom shading on two levels

For this modern multi-generational home, Volker Weiß developed two sail systems in 2020, individually tailored to the architecture and the specific requirements of each terrace. The result is a harmonious shading concept that combines functionality, design, and living comfort on both residential levels.

For the long, narrow terrace on the ground floor, a SunSquare AX-II system was used. The approximately 50 m² zigzag sail was crafted from high-quality Sattler 320 acrylic fabric in the colour 923 and provides a spacious, flexibly usable shaded area.

For the large terrace on the first floor, the choice fell on a SunSquare double-triangle radial sail. With a sail area of approximately 53 m² the system not only provides optimal sun and weather protection but also serves as an architectural highlight. Once again, the proven Sattler 320 fabric in beige-grey was used, ensuring that both shading solutions harmonize perfectly with one another.

Special attention was paid to integrating the system into the modern architecture of the house. The powder coating of all mounting components was precisely colour-matched to the building's metal elements. As a result, the sun sail systems blend seamlessly into the overall aesthetic and emphasize the high-quality design of the property.

The combination of a rectangular sail for the elongated ground-floor terrace and a double-triangular sail for the spacious rooftop terrace impressively demonstrates how flexibly SunSquare systems can be adapted to a wide variety of structural conditions.
