Tailored awning system for Chalet Möller's guest garden

Commissioned by operator Roman Möller, architects Jakob Rosenauer and Martin Summer worked with SunSquare to develop an unusual solution for the popular guest garden at Chalet Möller at Schottenhof.

The aim was to provide the entire terrace area with an elegant, weatherproof surge — without massive modifications and with a particular focus on lightness and design.

The challenge: More than 200 m² of sail should provide sun and rain protection, fit harmoniously into the architecture of the extension renovated in 2014 with historic trellis cladding and appear floating.

The solution: A three-part SunSquare system, each with two compensators, supported on the canopy of the extension and specially developed boat building supports. In close, creative collaboration, a system was created that impresses with its technical sophistication and design clarity.

The result inspires guests and experts alike — a prime example of functional aesthetics in upscale gastronomy.
