Technology meets aesthetics: Impressive awning installation at Dubai Palm Jumeirah

With this project in Dubai, SunSquare is setting new standards in textile architecture. Together with the local partner InOutCompany An innovative solution was developed for shading a 500 m² terrace right on the coast of Palm Jumeirah.

The challenge: A large, weatherproof roof with minimal interference with the existing architecture and as few supports as possible. The answer: One SunSquare AX-II system with “flying” supports whose tensile forces are transferred to a few ground supports via filigree steel cables.

A total of 14 individually controllable awnings provide flexible shading and enable different moods through targeted control. The integrated LED lighting transforms sails into elegant reflectors for indirect light at night — an atmospheric highlight for guests and operators.

A project that impresses with technical precision, creative clarity and impressive impact.
